Who we represent
Five constituencies. One council.
This broad representation ensures the Council reflects the full spectrum of the industry's needs, challenges, and opportunities.
PBGEA
The Pilipino Banana Growers and Exporters Association brings the multinational Cavendish producers and exporters into the Council. Its members grow and ship the fruit at the center of the country's export trade. Their seat at the table connects the Council to the industry's largest-scale operations.
Independent exporters
Independent Cavendish exporters are the Filipino-owned companies shipping fruit outside the multinational groups. They sit alongside the largest producers in the Council, so that positions taken on market access and trade policy carry their interests too.
Small & medium growers
Small and medium-scale growers and cooperatives — family farms and grower groups across every region — form the broadest part of the membership. Carrying their concerns to government and its agencies is the work the Council was created to do.
Processors
Fruit processors turn the harvest into banana chips, flour, and other processed products. Their membership keeps processing represented alongside fresh fruit whenever the industry sets its priorities.
Other varieties
Producers of other banana varieties grow Cardava, Lakatan, and specialty bananas alongside the Cavendish export crop. Their inclusion makes the Council a body for the whole of the Philippine banana industry, not for a single variety.
